A young Leslie Howard. He had a reputation for being a ladies man. When asked about this, he said he did not chase the ladies, but when they flocked around him he could not be bothered to run away. Many theories abound regarding his death on 1st June 1943, when the passenger plane on which he was travelling from Spain to England on, was shot down by the Luftwaffe.
