crying in renaissance
very fucking tired of female characters having to be younger and smaller than their male counterparts
also very fucking tired of female space marines, warriors, and knights having no muscles whatsoever compared to their ripped, beefy male counterparts.
also very fucking tired of female characters being introduced as qualified professionals but never get a chance to show their abilities
also very fucking tired of female characters who are taller, bigger, bulkier, etc. not being considered attractive
fatigued at the young, inexperienced white male protagonist one-upping the ‘uptight but hot’ female at something she’s apparently trained at for years
Exhausted at the notion that the male protagonist is in his 30s and still an immature piece of shit but somehow the hero, whereas the female costar can’t be older than 25 and yet has to be twice as skilled while being wise patient and mature as time itself to avoid being ‘whiny’ or ‘useless’. And then she’s sidelined and relegated to love interest anyway.

I’ve never seen a sculpture of a black person rendered in this style, with so much realism.

you guys should read some of Charmaine Nelson’s writing (x x) if you’re interested in the representation of black women in neoclassical sculpture
